We select only the finest spruce and maple from the south side of old-growth trees, where slower growth yields tighter, more resonant grain. Each piece is aged to perfection, then shaped, assembled, and varnished by skilled artisans.

A Legacy Carved in Wood and Time
A Chance Encounter near Milan in the village of Siziano
My discovery of Giovanni Stradavini began on a leisure trip to Milan. While sipping expresso at a café, a soul-stirring, almost impossibly beautiful sound captivated my ear. The strolling musician, when asked about the violin, offered only one word: “Giovanni.”
Intrigued, I asked where I can find this Giovanni. He said, not far, I can show you if you like. I followed him through the winding backstreets to a small, weathered workshop on the town’s edge. That’s where I met – him.
The Master of Craft: Giovanni
Inside a modest woodshed scented with carved spruce and aged maple, an elderly man sat quietly among his tools and wood shavings. “Your instrument sounds beautiful,” I told him, “I’m Ryan from America.” I hinted at the potential market for such exquisite craftsmanship.
He seemed utterly disinterested as he remarked that money wasn’t always his priority. Knowing his name echoed that of a legendary luthier, I couldn’t resist making a playful reference. He grinned, “Simple coincidence.”
I praised the beauty of his work but it was clear he had no interest in the world of commerce I inhabited. I shook his hand, acknowledging his unique perspective, and turned to leave.
A Legacy Revealed
As I reached the door, almost as an afterthought, I mentioned one of my other ventures: a music academy. “It’s a shame,” I mused aloud, “that young, aspiring musicians can’t learn on instruments with such a beautiful voice.”
Just as I stepped outside, I heard Giovanni say, “un momento.” As I looked back, he nodded toward a small door and, with quiet grace, walked to open it.
Behind the door was a worn workbench and an old trunk. From it, Giovanni gently unwrapped an ancient violin template—passed down from his great-grandfather. It was, quite literally, the blueprint for beauty.
